Did I just get a compliment?
I just got one of the world’s best compliments from a really difficult professor in grad school.
My reaction:

I was really excited about the new Star Wars, and I was feeling confident in Abrams at the helm, but now I’m really not sure. After the fiasco that is the most recent Star Trek—with its blatant whitewashing and gratuitous objectification and misuse of its female characters—I really don’t want Abrams anywhere near my most beloved franchise.
- Maybe I can put all my faith in Michael Arndt? At least I know Damon Lindelof won’t be involved. (via thefeministfangirl)
My fears exactly! Preach it from the mountain high!
Ever have one of those days you are in a terrible mood, but then you stumbled on laughter gold? Yes, I found this and have yet to stop giggling to myself.
“He just kissed one of my bitches!”
I fucking died when he said that at the end
SOOO impressed Mr. Comberbatch mentioned feminism! Also, all those hugs? What a stand up guy!
“This a photograph taken from the teenager (shirtless guy) named Austin Schafer’s Twitter account, of a kid being tied up and beaten by upper classmen at Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho.
This is a recent photograph and one where the school’s authorities have not taken action yet. Remember this kid’s name and repost this picture.
The Neanderthal trash who are bullying him deserve to have this picture plastered all over the Internet for prospective college admission offices to see so their career pinnacle can be asking me which kind of soup I want at Olive Garden.
If you’ve been a victim of bullying or know someone who has, please repost.”Signal Boost
Dang I live 5 minutes away from there
Those guys are sons of bitches.
Neanderthals were better people than this trash.
Every time I see these pictures, I find the school and e-mail the principal. Reblogging this doesn’t do anything so take action. Imagine if this principal had over 120,000 emails about this?
Yes, Lady. Here you go:
http://www1.nsd131.org/mainsite/schools/col/OurLeaders.aspx
There you can find all the emails of the leaders of the school.
I actually emailed the school and this was their response:
Thank you so much for your concern,
This picture was taken seriously months ago and is not what it looks like (very bad). We investigated immediately and these boys are friends and family and were playing around (although we told them to never to “play around” like that again). All parents were communicated with and had no issues at all. Coaches were all nearby. We have taken extra steps to educate our entire student population and our middle school, to teach our students about posting pictures on social media and also about our zero tolerance policy on bullying. We have all learned many hard lessons from this terrible looking picture.
Again thank you so much for informing us and for helping us continue to look out for our youth.
Sincerely,
Jewels Carpenter

My reaction:

I need feminism because when I get dressed up and attempt to look nice, it’s for ME and not for ANYONE ELSE.
I should not be catcalled in the street and told I look like a good time because I’m wearing a skirt. I wear what I want because I’m proud of my body and proud of my sense of style. Saying no does not make me a tease.
